A blog dedicated to the 1959 classic cross-dressing comedy.
Bass player Jerry (Jack Lemmon) and saxophone player Joe (Tony Curtis) are two musicians forced to dress in drag after witnessing the St Valentine's Day Massacre in Chicago in February 1929. As Josephine and Daphne, they join an all-girl jazz band and it's here that they meet the band's beautiful blonde singer and ukulele player Sugar Kane (Marilyn Monroe).
Both Jerry and Joe are smitten with her and she bonds with them seperately. They soon become jealous of each other however. Whilst still in drag, Jerry flirts outrageously with the sexy Sugar who is unaware that they are both men and Joe takes the calmer approach by lending a shoulder for her to cry on as her previous experience of dating saxophone players have all ended disastrously.
Joe decides to further action into winning her by secretly dressing as a millionaire to meet her high standards of men; whilst Jerry has a randy old millionaire badgering him for his affections when he is in drag as Daphne!
